HEMM Operator (Trainee)

CWT (Common Written Test) – For all posts
(100 MCQ of one mark each. There will be no negative marking for marking incorrect answers.)
CWT will be Common Paper for all operator posts/the syllabus is as follows:

1. Elementary Knowledge of Diesel engine, Patrol engine:
Functioning of engine, Braking System, Cooling System, Suspension, Clutch etc. which a driver should possessed for efficient driving/ Operation of machine and vehicle.

2. General Awareness/ Knowledge:
Current affairs, mental ability, reasoning, various Government Initiatives and schemes etc.
Awareness of Traffic rules & signals, Emission Standards, Driving rules, safety rules, meaning of different traffic signals, permissible speed at different locations, Indian Emission standards for vehicles, Motor Vehicle Acts & Rules, General Science.

3. Basic Mathematical Aptitudes :
10th Standard Arithmetic calculations, distance, displacement, speed/ velocity, relative velocity, acceleration related problems, Triangles, Simple trigonometry, heights and distance, Average, Time and work, Simple and Compound interest etc.

4. Language proficiency of Hindi and English language etc.

ATT (Additional Technical Test) for Dragline Operator (Trainee) post only

Technical Paper (2nd Paper-For Dragline operators)

(50 MCQ of one mark each. There will be no negative marking for marking incorrect answers.)
The syllabus is as follows:

1. Safety and general precautions to be observed in the shop: safety signs, danger, warning, caution & personal safety messages, safe handling & fuel spillage etc.

2. Principle, features and use of measuring tools such as outside micrometer, digital micrometer, depth micrometer, dial indicator, Vernier caliper, digital vernier caliper, divider, protractor etc.

3. System of Units of Mass, weight, time, Volume, angle, area (CGS/MKS/FPS) and their conversions etc

4. Knowledge about properties of aluminum and its alloys, brass, bronze, copper, iron and steel etc

5. Use of formulae for perimeter & area of square, circle, Triangle, Hexagon, Parallelogram, use of trigonometry in solving vehicles problems etc.

6. Basic knowledge of IC Engine – its principle and different parts etc.

7. Knowledge of various heat treatment processes like Tempering, annealing, Normalizing, hardening etc.

Etc. as per the courses offered by the Recognized Institutes for Motor Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic & Fitter Trade.
